The Carlsbad Triathlon course begins at Tamarack Surf Beach, and follows the coastline of Carlsbad, past scenic beaches, lagoons and a wildlife preserve. This sprint triathlon boasts a 1k ocean swim, a 25k rolling bike course and a 5k smooth run for the finish.
On behalf of Father Joe’s Villages, we are excited to welcome you to the 35th annual San Diego International Triathlon. This race is one of the longest standing triathlons in the country and a San Diego favorite. There are two courses to choose from an International course and a Sprint course, whichever you choose you’re guaranteed a great race.
Both races take place at the Spanish landing Park located on Harbor Drive across from the San Diego International Airport. This event is competitive and scenic; fun for you, your family and your friends. We look forward to providing you a safe and challenging event. The Sprint Triathlon begins with an exhilarating 500 yard open water swim, then transitions into a scenic 11 mile road bike course through rolling hills, and finishing with a breath-taking 5k mile trail run around the Hansen Dam Regional Park.
We also have an Olympic Distance 1500 meter swim, 22 mile bike course and 10k trail run!
