Desert Triathlon is the unofficial kickoff to triathlon season. Heading into its 18th year, Desert Triathlon is the perfect race for both the new or beginner triathlon, and the experienced triathlete looking to shake off their winter rust. We’re situated on the calendar as the perfect warmup to several longer distance races, including the 70.3 in Oceanside
The Big Rock Triathlon has been a favorite for over a decade . We offer the Olympic distance triathlon, the sprint distance triathlon and an off-road MTB triathlon. Olympic: Swim 1.5k, Bike 40k, Run 10k
Sprint: Swim 1/2 mi, Bike 12 mi, Run 3 mi
Off-Road: Swim 1/2 mi, Bike 12 to 14 mi, Run 3 mi
Calm lake swim, with a great bike course that has a short climb (off-road course has a few steep climbs) the run is fun and fast with a few very short up and downs
Water temp is in the low 60’s and the weather is usually in the mid 70’s

Professionally timed finisher results, bib, finisher medal, top finisher awards, costume contest, post race refreshments, and a commemorative bag as well as a t-shirt!
Participants are also invited to stay for the Healthy Living Extravaganza after the 5k Run/Walk. HALF DISTANCE TRIATHLON! 70.3 MILES
The 70.3 Mile HALF DISTANCE course deemed The CVC SAN DIEGO HALF, will provide San Diego triathletes as well as regional, national and international athletes a chance to compete in a longer endurance event. The Half will be limited to 200 athletes so early registration is encouraged.
THIS TRIATHLON IS DESIGNED FOR A WHOLE DAY OF FUN FOR RACERS, FRIENDS AND FAMILIES!
All the courses have been redesigned to make this event Super Athlete and Spectator Friendly. All race distances, the HALF, INTERNATIONAL, SPRINT AND KIDS events will start and finish at Bayside Park on Sunday August 13, 2017. The park will host the Swim Start, the Transition Area, the Hot Lap corners for the run and bike, Expo, Kids Fun Zone, and end with a Beach Party Finish line featuring a Beer Garden and Mexican Food.
This course is a USATF Boston Qualifying course with a net drop of over 4000’. We have strategically picked September 15, 2019 because “if’“ and “when” you qualify, you can register for Boston 2020 (please read Boston registration rules below) and the following year you can use your same time for 2021**.
Idaho is filled with beauty and nothing is more fun than running through a scenic course and “downhill”. JJ offers both, from Bogus Basin to Ann Morrison Park. Bask in the beauty as you coast downhill and finish with a PR.
